The Best Bike Path: Discovery Trail
Start your journey on the bike path at the sign marking “The World’s Longest Beach” which arches proudly over Bolstad Street in Long Beach WA. Ample parking awaits. Follow the paved path southward, embracing the ocean’s closeness and the refreshing sea breeze caressing your face as your wheels glide over the paved terrain. Pass through clusters of trees, catching sight of a striking rugged rock formation along the way, which will be to your left. Soon after that you will encounter a parking lot.
Proceed straight ahead, through the parking lot to a place where you can cross the road. There is another trail to your left, even though it is pretty, save that for another time and continue through to the lighthouse. Once crossing the road, Prepare for a gentle uphill stretch leading you to the trail’s apex. Stop for a breather at the top, this is a great place to allow everyone in your group to catch up. Again, you will cross the road and follow the path through some trees. This is the direct route and the final 300 feet before you get to the lighthouse.
